The festival's main prize, the GRAND PRIX – Golden Turon, was won by the Romanian documentary "The Last Transhumance" directed by Dragos Lumpan. The film captures the fascinating, but slowly disappearing way of life of shepherds who travel great distances with their animals for a living. This documentary is not only a testimony to the everyday reality of shepherds, but also a deep reflection of their determination to preserve traditions despite the pressure of modernization. In addition to the main prize of the festival, other awarded films were also of interest, which brought together diverse stories, customs, traditions and ways of life from different corners of the world. The Martin Slivka Award for the best individual performance by a Slovak filmmaker was awarded this year to Róbert Šulák for the film "Returns to the Images of the Old World" about the work of director Dušan Hanák.

The current year of the ETNOFILM festival took place in several locations, once again confirming its wide scope. In addition to the traditional location in Čadca, viewers had the opportunity to watch the competition screenings also on the campus of the universities: the University of Žilina in Žilina (Department of Mediamatics and Cultural Heritage), the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica (Department of Film and Documentary Production) and the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra. The competition screenings and professional seminars, which focused on documentary filmmaking and its connection with ethnology, took place in the V-club in Bratislava. The festival also expanded to other cities, such as Turzovka, Ružomberok, Liptovský Mikuláš, Žilina, Námestovo and Martin, thanks to cooperation with cultural and educational institutions.

A novelty this year was the opportunity to watch the competition screenings online via the official website www.etnofilm.sk or via the ETNOFILM mobile application. This innovation significantly contributed to spreading the festival's message, reaching an even wider audience, according to the organizers, helping to promote the festival's values ​​and ideas both nationally and internationally.
