Film evenings with ETHNOFILM 2020 at SMER KLUBE 77 in Žilina start on October 4
The largest film festival of documentary films ETNOFILM Čadca will bring exceptional film experiences from the 20th year of the film biennial to SMER KLUBU 77 in Žilina. Since October, film fans can look forward to a collection of documentaries that won the highest awards of the International Film Festival ETNOFILM Čadca 2020.

The international film festival ETNOFILM ČADCA ranks among documentary ethnological festivals offering films on topics from the field of social and cultural anthropology, from diverse expressions of traditional folk culture to mapping the life of contemporary people.

The VIA EUROPA award - for the best film about European cultural heritage - is awarded by the chairperson of the Žilina self-governing region
The Martin Slivka Award - for the best individual performance to a Slovak creator - is awarded by the Literary Fund

The selection jury composed of the chairwoman Doc. PhDr. Hana Hlôšková, CSc., members: PhDr. Antónia Jasemová, Mgr. MgA. Jaroslava Panáková, PhD., PhDr. Peter Maráky selected and recommended twenty competitive documentary films from the total number of films submitted to the 22nd ETHNOFILM ČADCA IFF, which are competing for individual awards at the festival.

The oldest and most extensive national festival with international participation - Východná takes place every year on the first weekend of July in the amphitheater of the village of Východná.
