For a quarter of a century, Danica Olexová worked voluntarily and professionally in the Republic of South Africa, Uganda, Ethiopia and Kenya, where she also worked and lived for five years. She died in the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash in 2019. In South Africa, she was given the name Kukhanya, which translates as Woman Full of Light."
