Documentary film about the work of director Dušan Hanák focusing on his feature film Pictures of the Old World /1972/ and short films Mass /1967/ and To Leave a Trace /1970/. "Pictures of the Old World" have the character of a free, independent film with a deeply human dimension, despite the fact that they were created during the harshest normalization, after the occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968. Dušan Hanák unveils the background of the film creation, several worldwide film personalities and friends present their views and observations on the film production.
