Prof. PhDr. Zuzana Beňušková, CSc.

Prof. PhDr. Zuzana Beňušková, CSc. has been working since 1983 at the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of the Slovak Republic, where he focuses on the research of customs, traditional culture of the regions of Slovakia in the context of regional development and the history of Slovak ethnology. Since 1996, she has been teaching ethnology at the University of Konstantin Filozof in Nitra, where she works as a university professor. She is the author and co-author of several scientific and professional book publications (Traditional culture of the regions of Slovakia, Religiosity and inter-confessional relations in the local community, Liptovská Teplička since the second half of the 20th century, History of Slovak ethnology in the 20th century, Civic ceremonies in Slovakia, A wedding is coming soon istá, What is a holiday in the 21st century in Slovakia?, Kroje Slovenska) approximately hundreds of scientific studies and co-author of several audiovisual professional documents (Dobre nám je v Petržalka bývať, Marinka, Cyklus Osobnosti slovenskej etnologie).

Dr hab. Jadwiga Hučková, prof. UJ

He lectures at the Institute of Audiovisual Arts of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. Since 1997, he has been working in the selection committee of the Krakow Film Festival. Juror of more than thirty international documentary film festivals. She participated in the VISEGRAD DOCUMENTARY FILM LIBRARY project in Prague. In addition to articles, she published (also under the name Jadwiga Głowa): Dokument po przełomie. Film documentalny lat 90. w Europie Środkowo-Wschodniej / Zooming in on History's Turning points. Documentaries in the 1990s in Central and Eastern Europe (Kraków 1999), Dokument filmowy epoki Havla (Kraków 2005), Czech and Polish documentary film in the era of Europeanization / Czeski i polski film documentalny w czasach europeizacji (Prague, NFA 2015).

Mgr. Ivo Brachtl

Slovak documentary filmmaker. After graduating from FAMU in 1988, he got a job at Newsreel Film SFT, where, among other things, he filmed ten Kinožurnáls. On July 4, 1991, he founded an independent production company focusing on documentaries, which is still active today. In it, he realized various projects, documents and documentary cycles for RTVS, Markíza and Czech Television. Since 1991, he has collaborated with Dež Ursin on documentary films as a cameraman, editor and producer. In addition to documentaries, he has also filmed for news agencies since 1996. He currently works for AFP and INS. In 2009/10 he filmed in the USA for UISCA. He organized and participated in the implementation of exhibitions connected with audiovisual content. At the Audiovisual Fund, he first worked in the documentary film committee, then as a member of the Fund Council, and is currently a member of the documentary film committee again.

 Kateřina Mildnerová, Ph.D

Mgr. Kateřina Mildnerová, Ph.D. is a Czech Africanist and social and cultural anthropologist living in Hranice in Moravia. Since 2015, he has been working at the Department of Sociology, Andragogy and Cultural Anthropology of the Palacký University in Olomouc. Since 2019, she is the president of the Czech Association of African Studies. During her lifetime, she carried out dozens of field researches in Zambia, Benin and Namibia and lectured at several universities in Africa and Europe. He specializes in anthropology of religion and medical anthropology. Her long-standing scientific and research interests include issues of magic, witchcraft, traditional medicine and albinism in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as African art, collective identity and the concept of home among migrants. She is the author of dozens of professional articles and five monographs of her own: My neighbor is a wizard (2011), Drinking fetishes - religion and art of Benin (2012), From Where Does the Bad Wind Blows (2015), Black Falcons. The troubled destinies of Namibian children raised in Czechoslovakia (2020) and Namibian Czechs (2020). She is the co-author of the successful documentary film Black Czechs (2022) and the founder of the non-profit organization Spolok na supporten széchnych Czechos Namibian. He is currently working on the Born Different project about life with albinism in Africa together with Mozambican photographer Antonio Cosso.
