A beautifully illustrated story of a contemporary village and its unconventional inhabitants, who are of different ages, but have one thing in common – a strong connection to folk culture. "Soil" is a picturesque documentary attuned to the rhythm of nature and the regularly changing landscape. Its authors are able to notice the beauty of the incomprehensible aspects of rural life and do not avoid powerful juxtapositions in the editing. The music is as important as the image in this film because it accompanies the heroes during key events in their lives and helps them cope with their emotions.
