92-year-old Zdzisław and his 25-year-old granddaughter set out on a 5,000 km journey to a remote village in Kazakhstan. For him, it means returning to where he was expelled by the Soviets as a teenager during World War II. After 70 years, he sets out again to the land of his childhood in search of his first love, which he was forced to leave. His granddaughter tries to support him on his arduous journey while uncovering the reality behind the bedtime stories she listened to as a child.
